Shakespeare readings, under the direction of Richard Kenyon, a Shakespeare Club member and artist-in-residence, were born of a desire to share and perform Shakespeare with our members in an easy and understandable way. The Reading Series forms an on-ramp, if you will, to the world of Shakespeare, and the promise of a regular playbill of Shakespeare’s plays in the upcoming years.
To date the readings have included: Macbeth, Othello, Romeo & Juliet, Richard The Third, Julius Caesar, Merchant Of Venice, Antony & Cleopatra, Much Ado About Nothing, Titus Andronicus (our first all female cast), Two Gentlemen of Verona, Twelfth Night, Measure For Measure, Love’s Labor’s Lost. Plans going forward include all of the plays which appear in the First Folio (1623) of Shakespeare’s plays.
